Hernando Swim Program
Third grade students will be participating in a swim program at Whispering Pines Pool in Inverness. This program will be teaching water safety and survival skills. Students do not have to know how to swim to participate in this program. Living in Florida, it is imperative that kids understand how to be careful around water and be able to save themselves and others in the case of an emergency.
A permission slip will come home explaining the dates and times for the swim program. Please sign and return the permission slip to your child's teacher. There is no cost for this program.
What to Bring:
Towel, plastic bag for wet suit, underwear, sun block (outside for 2 hours!)
Other Information:
Anyone with hair at shoulder length or longer needs to have a ponytail.
It is best for students to have sunblock applied at home since there is little time to change and be prepared once they are at the pool.
Students should wear regular school appropriate shoes, no filp flops or water shoes are needed.
Students are not underwater for long periods of time and will not need goggles.
Students should wear their swimsuits under their clothes to school, this saves time once they are at the pool.
